My primary goals are as follows:

  • Improve Police Visibility and increase access points to contact the Police.

  • To learn from our communities, build trust and support people with diverse needs.

  • Collaborate and tackle crime in partnership.

Two days are never the same in my role, I have an active workload comprising of multiple crimes which require continued investigation. I visit schools/clubs to deliver valuable inputs to children. Where possible I attend Parish council meetings delivering Police reports on crime figures which includes liaising with Parish Clerks. I am proud to say that since starting this role, I have held at least one ‘Police Surgery’ every single month. This is an opportunity for me to meet with different members of the community, gaining feedback from their point of view and then being able to formulate and action a plan that is tailored to that specific area. This can include concerns over local speeding which then results in traffic Operations being set up to curb any poor driving. It can also include concerns over ASB in a particular area which may mean that increased patrols are carried out to provide reassurance in a particular area.

Over the last few months, I have had the pleasure of working with many different agencies including, NHS, Fire, RSPB, RSPCA, Teignbridge Council, Devon Highways, Devon Safety Camera Partnership and many different Parish Councils and schools to name a few.

There are always plans to be made for local communities and this is a privileged role to be in, where I try to make a real difference to communities where I can.
